On Tuesday, November 22, 2011, there was an assembly at Wells Central School for students in grades 6-12 titled Sweethearts and Heroes. The presenter, Tom Murphy, a MMA (mixed martial artist), talked about how it is important for students to speak up and be someone's hero when they see a bullying incident occur. Students in grades 7-9 from Lake Pleasant Central School also attended the presentation. After the large group presentation, Mr. Murphy held a focus group with a question and answer session for the Wells 7-9th grade students. The faculty also had an opportunity to meet with Mr. Murphy as well.
